"Once our eyes are opened, we cannot pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act." Proverbs 24:12

I AM!

who?

At the risk of aging myself, I must share yesterday's playground incident with the young Moms (early 20's) at AJ's playgroup.

I was sitting with these girls that could be my daughters Moms talking about our kids and the conversation somehow turned to the boyband, New Kids on The Block. This is how it went:

1st Mom: Wow! Did you hear NKOTB were here not long ago?

2nd Mom: Yeah! Oh, I would have loved to see them!

2nd Mom: Ohilda, do you like NKOTB?

ME: (Quickly thinking that my almost 15 year old Amanda loved them!) Umm...yeah. I remember them! (making it seem like it was not that long ago that I had a teen idol)

1st Mom: Who'd you like most growing up?

ME: (wishing the return of Jesus would be that very instant!) ME? Umm....oh, you guys probably don't like him.

1st and 2nd Mom: (in unison) Oh, c'mon! I'm sure we do!

ME: (Finally giving in) Well, to tell you the truth, I pretty much just existed so I could belong to Donny Osmond.

1st and 2nd Mom (again in unison and rather loud!): DONNY WHO???

ME: (releasing a big sigh) "AJ! Be careful, Honey! You're gonna fall! Here let me help you." (walking away feeling ancient).

So, for all those other ancient Mamas out there that remember having wonderful memories of my teenage heartthrob, Donny Osmond, join in the memories!

As a teenager, I had this poster hanging right next to my bed so when I rolled over (my bed was against a wall) I'd stare into his eyes!)

donny

With of course, a million other posters covering my walls.

I thought my heart would literally stop beating when my Mom gave me Donny Osmond sheets that came with this pillowcase:

pillowcase

I remember bawling to songs like Too Young, The 12th of Never, and of course, Puppy Love! Oh, those were the days. Such innocence compared to the world we live in today.

Donny turned out to be a great, Godly man with a beautiful family.

So, I don't know where it was that I went from lovin' this good guy hearththrob:

donny2

To this "Bad Boy" heartthrob:

Kiefer Sutherland

I just couldn't end this post without giving Kiefer some credit.

I leave you with some of my favorite Donny Osmond songs in the background! Feel free to share your teenage heartthrobs in the comments section. Truly, after yesterday, I don't think you could out-age me!

By the way, because I love you guys, I threw in a David Cassidy and a Bobby Sherman song, too!

Enjoy!

what the !@#$%?!?!?!?!

IF I WERE THIS MAN.....

jack241

I WOULD MAKE SURE THAT THIS MAN.....

tony1

ENDED UP LIKE THIS MAN!!!!!!!!!

body bag1

OK "24" fans. Where are you?

Am I the only one reeling here, an hour and a half after tonight's episode ended, about what Tony did to Jack? I was literally yelling at the TV set. Yelling at Jack. Yelling at Tony. Yelling at airhead FBI Agent Walker to run in and shoot Tony. Man! Talk about stress.

I kept telling myself that Jack doesn't die here because I know he signed on for 3 more seasons (for $40 million!!) and he still has one more season left. I also saw an interview he did about a month ago where he stated that next season will be unlike the previous ones. There have always been a substantial time span between seasons, meaning 3 years have passed, etc. Kiefer stated in the interview that Season 8 will be almost back to back in time lapse from Season 7.

Also executive producer/director, Jon Cassar, who not only is a very good friend of Kiefer's but who played a major role in getting Kiefer the part of Jack Bauer, did not renew his contract because they could not come to agreeable terms. Kiefer has stated in the past that if Cassar was not a part of the show, he'd feel like something is missing and it would be difficult for him to remain. Therefore, another reason to make it through only one more season.

So, if you're asking for my guess as to what will happen. Here it is. Jack survives this season, but is not cured, mostly because he's only got 5 hours left of this season and the disease may take much longer to kill him. Season 8 begins maybe a few days later and Jack is still hanging in there. He ends up dying in Season 8 and the show ends for good, with soaring ratings and will go down in history as the best TV drama show in history!

Please let me interject a little more ranting now, before I continue. I've never been a Tony fan, but now...I can't stand him! I CAN'T STAND THE MAN! Did you hear me? Just in case you didn't....I CAN'T STAND THE MAN! I've always thought he's a lousy actor, but I guess that the fact that I CAN'T STAND THE MAN must mean that he's at least pretty decent at acting since he's gotten me to loathe him (although I'd never admit it out loud).

Whew! I feel better.

I do have to admit though, that I've seen (several times) every episode of every season of "24" and hands down, this is absolutely, without a doubt, the best one. The writers hit it outta the ballpark with this season and how about my man? Was Kiefer not AMAZING tonight with his acting? HOLY MOLY!!!!!!! If I were Kiefer I'd be dreaming about where I'm gonna be putting that next Emmy!

What about you? What do you think?

AAAUUUGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!

Can I tell you how STEAMING MAD I am at that stupid invention they call TiVo?!!!

IT DID NOT RECORD THE FIRST HALF OF MY "24" SHOW TONIGHT!!!!!!

While I sat here twiddling my thumbs because the kids were in bed, Scott was playing his computer game, Amanda was not home and my dishes were done, the show was going on. I wasn't watching it. Why? You ask why? I'll tell you why! Because we're now in the 21st century. That means, why watch long, boring commercials when you can fast forward through them in a millisecond with TiVo. Yeah, the same !@(&^ TiVo that didn't record!

I know FOX on Demand allows you to watch full episodes, but I'll have to wait till next week for episode 10. Do you know how hard it was to wait till this week? (I did manage to catch it halfway through right when the FBI mole shot his little fling in the belly.)

I know. I sound like an immature 3 year old having a tantrum.
I guess I'm done ranting. ::deep breaths::

O.K.! I admit it! No, I'm not done ranting! I'M NOT! I'M NOT! I'M NOT!
I'm mad and I'm off to bed to drown my sorrows.

I Didn't Do It!

Due to last week's craziness, I missed MckMama's weekly Not Me, Monday! carnival. You know the one where you go to her blog and read about the funny things that everyone else did not do!

So here I am. Once again to humiliate myself and 'fess up about all the things that I did not do this week!

It was absolutely not me that enjoyed a celebratory dinner with family on Thursday night, only to develop a humongous belly ache on the way home, which was an hour drive. Nope. It wasn't me that totally and completely refused when asked by sweet hubby if I wanted to stop at a truck-stop to use the bathroom since there was nothing else on that 15 mile stretch of highway. No way was it me that sat in the car pleading to please hurry because I didn't think I could make it home. And I know that you have to believe that it was not me who in the midst of said pleading, for just a fleeting moment, thought about hopping into the back seat and pulling out one of AJ's size 5 diapers from the diaper bag and using that because, for Pete's sake, it would have been much more hygenic than a truck stop. The fleeting moment truly did flee when I spoke my thought out loud and sweet hubby looked at me like he was gonna push me out the door. (For those not completely grossed out yet and wondering if we made it home in time, we ended up finding a Cracker Barrel that we stopped at. :)

********************************

It definitely was not me that danced around in elation when my baby boy yelled, "I did CA-CA" at the top of his lungs after sitting on his potty seat for twenty minutes. I was not the proudest Mama on the planet and ran with my camera to take a picture of the huge milestone, which was a first. It was not both sweet hubby and I who high-five'd each other at the thought that we might, after 3 years, be seeing the light at the end of the "diaper tunnel". No, it could not have been me because that would be outright gross to take a picture of and completely silly to be cheering about!

AJ

It certainly was not me that totally threw caution to the wind when I broke that big 'ole golden rule of not mentioning the word "prayer" in school by sending my precious daughter to said institution on Friday wearing this:

AG

No way was it me that thought that she not only looked absolutely adorable, but that the statement on her shirt was so very true that we had to let the world know, after last week's mess, that God totally rocks!

jack1

You'd be so wrong if you thought that it was me that woke up this morning completely giddy with excitement because it was Monday. I have not been thinking all weekend about how Jack is going to save the girl he pretty much threw into the fire last week, although I've already cheated and saw a few sneak peeks. It is also not me that is so very a tad bit jealous of co-star, Annie Wersching, because not only is she stunningly beautiful but she gets to spend her days with Kiefer Sutherland trying to figure out how Jack is going to save the world! That would be just crazy because it is only a TV show and those people are really not real in my life.

And finally, it really was not me that let the kids play in a tub filled with bubbles, for almost an hour the other day, until their little fingers were wrinkled like "little old people" because they were having so much fun. If it would have been me, it would have been totally selfish because I got the opportunity to sit on the floor by them, listen to them giggle and read my new book all at once. But I know that you know the truth. It really wasn't me that let them play with almost an entire can of shaving cream with which they started out covering just their arms and belly and ended up covering almost the entire tub, including fixtures.

kai

Nope! That would not have been me because shaving cream cost money and we are definitely not in a position to completely throw away money on something so wasteful as the children having fun! Not to mention the fact that I do not find activities that they enjoy doing, while allowing me some quiet time, even in the midst of the earthquaking laughter and chatter.

"Welcome to Washington, Mr. Bauer"

JACK IS BACK!

::SIGH::

Is anybody else as excited as I am that "24" is finally back and that Kiefer will be in your living rooms every week? (!!!) The season premiere of the show (Part 1) starts tonight!

After almost two years of being off the air (due to Hollywood's writer strikes) and this time last year serving time in jail for yet another drunk driving charge, Kiefer is back with a vengeance in 2009. He's publicly apologized about his misdeeds. Last month he appeared on Redemption, the prequel to Season 7, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination. He seems to be happy in the romance department with new girlfriend, Siobhan Bonnouvrierm. He recently received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and to top it off, some icing on the cake, he was voted for the 2nd time, Sexiest Man of the Year in Hello! Canada online magazine. Life is good being Kiefer!

We are ready! The Bombardier household (yep, Amanda and sweet husband included) can't wait to see Jack, once again, saving the world! Can I get a "Woot! Woot!"

Nope, Not Me!

Time to rid myself of any guilt if I had done anything that would cause said guilt. But since I have not, then it clearly was Not Me!

It was definitely not me that laughed until my sides hurt last week when we made a family trip to the library. After an hour of being there, I went to the little "self-check out" booth and started scanning all of the books we were borrowing. When I got to the only book that sweet hubby had chosen, which by the way took him 20 minutes to find, I kept getting an "Error" message. Finally, hubby muttered that he would take it to the front desk and check it out there since I was obviously doing something wrong. A few minutes later, up walks hubby with no book in his hand and wearing a sheepish grin. It was not me who asked him if he checked out his book only to hear him say, "I guess it's been a while since I was at the library. The lady told me I couldn't check out this book since it was a REFERENCE book! Maybe that's why there were only 4 books on WWII on the shelf." Bahahaha! It definitely was not me that laughed so loud at poor hubby that I had several people look up at me from where they were seated. That would be mean and I am not a mean person.

Celebrating a spectacular win!

The "traitor" leaving the stadium with a rolled up jersey so as not to be detected as a Miami fan. So sad! (But, isn't he cute? I love my baby boy!)

Oh no! I was not me that drove with hubby, on our 11th anniversary of being together, to Miami to watch the N.E. Pats make dolphin "chowda" out of the Dolphins yesterday. It also was not me that was screaming D-E-F-E-N-S-E so loud that I have no voice left today. It absolutely was not me that asked her son, Adam, to go along all while knowing he would root for the Dolphins and then badger him the entire 2 hour trip home, especially because he removed his Dolphin Jersey before leaving the stadium! That would again not be nice and very unsportsmanlike. I am a good sport and would not do that. By the way, Adam, did you notice the score? Oh, you didn't? Let me help you. 48 - 28!!!!!!!!! It really was not me that had an awesome time with my sweet hubby, son and sister at this fabulous game!

It truly was not me that decided that Kiefer, our wiener dog, would look absolutely adorable dressed as a hot dog. No way that it was me that bought the hot-dog outfit with mustard and relish included and proceeded to parade our manly dog through the neighborhood with it on during his walks. That would be completely silly. It was also not me that smiled big when my babies laughed so hard at seeing their puppy looking so silly, which made it all the more fun to dress him up!

It certainly was not me that came home the other night only to find that sweet hubby had purchased the above TV Guide ::big sigh:: for me and placed it under my pillow. It surely wasn't me that danced around the bedroom oooohhhiing and aaahhhing and thanked sweet hubby a thousand times for thinking about me while he was standing at the grocery store line.

And you, of course, have to know that it was not me that made sure the night before that the TiVO was all set up to record the prequel to "24", Redemption, on the following night since we were going to the football game. I would never have come home from the football game, raced through the door and planted myself on the couch with my pillow, blanket, remote control, drink and snack to watch said prequel after thinking about it all day long. I also didn't ask Amanda and sweet hubby to watch it with me because the more, the merrier, when you are watching the man, Jack Bauer, save the world!

Now, what didn't YOU do this week? For more Not Me fun, check out MckMama's site!

INTRODUCING.........

Isn't that just about the sweetest face you've ever seen?
(Click on the picture for a closeup of those heart-melting eyes,
which by the way are one blue and one brown.)

Here he is, folks! For those of you who know what an obsessive all-things-Kiefer Sutherland nut I am, I bet you never thought that my dream of having Kiefer all mine would ever come true, huh?

I know we're waiting to see where God leads us as to another adoption in our lives, so for the meantime, we've jumped the gun and added this loving little boy as a family member. Our new addition is a male dapple dachshund, whom I fell in love with the minute I laid eyes on him. So, what a more appropriate name to give him than Kiefer!

He's a bundle of fun and loves the kids and his new Mama and Daddy. AJ seems to love him a bit too much at times, but is quickly learning (after several daily timeouts and a few nips) that he has to be gentle with the doggy. He's only been with us a week and I can already tell this is gonna be one spoiled boy!

Was there ever a question?

HelloMagazine.com votes Kiefer hunkiest guy of 2007!!

"Hollywood's cute newcomers don't hold a candle to showbiz's more mature talents it seems, according to the results of a hellomagazine.com poll to discover the hunkiest guy of 2007. Age and experience apparently outweigh youthful allure in the eyes of our readers, who clearly had some strong opinions on the subject, casting an incredible 176,673 votes in total. The top two places went to talents over 40, with Kiefer Sutherland, who recently celebrated his 41st birthday in an LA detention facility, storming into first place with an impressive 47 per cent of the votes." For the rest of the story, click HERE.

Congrats, Kiefer! There was never a doubt. :)

Nine days and counting till you get out of jail. I'm hoping you learned something from the 48 days you were away, which sadly included your birthday, Christmas, and New Years.

A loooong "24" hours....

for Kiefer. Yes, as much as I hate to type the words, he has gotten himself into a mess that even Jack Bauer can't get him out of.

Kiefer
Sutherland was arrested early Tuesday morning, for driving under the influence, as he attempted to make an illegal U-turn in West L.A. He was seen earlier in the evening at a FOX party, the network that broadcasts "24".

Kiefer
tested over the state's legal blood alcohol limit of .08 percent, but reports didn't say what his alcohol level was. He was booked and spent 3 hours in jail before posting $25,000. bail and being released.

The sad part is that Mr. Sutherland is not a stranger to this situation. In 1989 and 1993, he plead guilty and was convicted of reckless driving while under the influence. Kiefer got three years probation for both of those cases, the second of which fell just after the probation was up for the first. Time was on his side in that one. Later in 2004, he was again convicted of another DUI. He pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence and was sentenced to 60 months of probation, a $500. fine, 50 hours of community service and was ordered to attend an alcohol treatment program. In May 2005, he appeared again in court with proof of completion of both the community service and the treatment program.

I just don't understand why these celebrities (Paris, Lohan, etc.) with all the money they have don't hire a chauffeur to take them around when they are partying. It makes no sense.

Anyways, that's it from Ohilda's Kiefer watch. I just hope it doesn't affect the production and his character on season 7 of "24".
