"Once our eyes are opened, we cannot pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act." Proverbs 24:12

OH, YEAH!

I know this isn't an update (coming soon), but someone sent me this and I just knew that you guys would love it. So, I'm sharing. If only we could commit ourselves to this every day!

'Oh sh*t....she's awake!!'

Moving on to Plan "B", Pain, and Politics

Yep. It's me. In pain, but it's me. I really try hard not to agree with hubby that I am a wimp when it comes to pain, but man! This freakin' incision is killing me. I got past the gas (sorry, if too graphic, but I think that was one of the worst pains!) and now I have developed some swelling beneath the incision about 5 inches in length....and those 5 inches hurt....BAD! It's a burning sensation. Tomorrow afternoon I get my stitches out, so I will definitely be asking about it. If anyone knows how to make that "swelling" go down, please let me know. I'm so sick of being in bed. I DO walk....around the house. So, I'm pretty much bored, in bed and in pain. Too much to be able to sit up to blog. Oh! Did I mention I was HOT? No...not sexy hot....hot as in feeling-like-a-sweaty-pig hot. Yuck! Poor Scott woke up at about 2 am last night and said, "Honey, I HAVE to put the AC up. I just noticed there's icicles hanging from my nose." heh! Poor guy.

So, by the comments and emails, I take it you enjoyed my witty husband's humor. Isn't he awesome? And he cooks and cleans, too! I did good, huh? Yep....my Mama is proud!

Speaking of my Mama. She was amazing. She remained 24/7 with me at the hospital so that I would not be alone. My sister took AJ and the other kiddos were in school.

Remember I had mentioned that my Mom would be here this week helping me out and doing all the things I couldn't do? Well, bless her heart. I feel so bad. During one of Gustav's tropical storm bands, my Mom was running in the rain to get in her car. She slipped and broke her wrist. Not only has she been in horrendous pain, but she had to wait 3 days until the holiday weekend was over to see an orthopedic. The emergency room only put her arm in a splint and told her she needed surgery and to see an orthopedic surgeon ASAP. Praise God, she did go to the doctor today and she does not need surgery. Her wrist is definitely broken and she is in a cast for 5 weeks. Please keep her in your prayers.

So, we move onto plan B. My sister has stepped up to the plate and is now driving back and forth from her home to mine (just under an hour EACH way!) to take the kids to school, pick them up, and do everything that needs to be done in between. All of this while lugging her 1 year old, sweet little Seth, with her. My Dad drove across the state as a surprise on Saturday morning and babied me by making me huge amounts of food, not letting me out of bed, and just reminding me of why I love him so much! I thank God every single day for my wonderful family and their amazing love and support for my family and myself. I am so very blessed!!!

Although this is the first time I could muster the enery to sit up long enough to write, I have read each and every email and am so grateful for all of the prayers and support. Your words of wisdom are priceless. I had no idea I had so many bloggy friends that were actual nurses. I did want to say that I had a total abdominal hysterectomy, but did not remove my ovaries, hence so need for HRT. So, that's why I am a bit baffled that I am so freakin' hot all the time. What's up with that?

For Terrye, you asked what I thought about McCain's running mate? Well, I don't think I've ever expressed political views on my blog except for the fact that I am a HUGE advocate for a child's (from conception) right to life (Check out my I VOTE FOR LIFE image on my profile). I have to tell you that I, like many people I have spoken to, have thought about which one of two evils I was going to vote for at election time, or even if I was going to vote at all. Sarah Palin has changed my whole outlook towards these elections. She is smart, a go-getter, a mother of 5, including a down syndrome baby who was NOT aborted!!!! (Many of you know down syndrome kiddos are extremely close to my heart, but that's a whole other posts). I digress. She is Christian and lives her faith. She supports our troops and recognizes the sacrifices that the men and women who servc our country give so that we, as Americans, can live in a free country. I "get" her. She IS what America needs. Yes, Terrye, she is "DA BOMB!"

And oh yes, Cindy McCain is a SHINING example of an adoptive mother. She has a heart for cleft children and orphans and learning about her missions has certainly given me a heart for her.

I will definitely get back to everyone's emails, but please give me a few more days. Right now, that burning sensation is already getting to be "too much" so I'm logging off. Much love to all and thank you for your prayers.

PS Scott loved his reviews and is looking to give interviews to perform "guest blogger" spots elsewhere. You guys have created a monster! :)
