"Once our eyes are opened, we cannot pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act." Proverbs 24:12

A loooong "24" hours....

for Kiefer. Yes, as much as I hate to type the words, he has gotten himself into a mess that even Jack Bauer can't get him out of.

Kiefer
Sutherland was arrested early Tuesday morning, for driving under the influence, as he attempted to make an illegal U-turn in West L.A. He was seen earlier in the evening at a FOX party, the network that broadcasts "24".

Kiefer
tested over the state's legal blood alcohol limit of .08 percent, but reports didn't say what his alcohol level was. He was booked and spent 3 hours in jail before posting $25,000. bail and being released.

The sad part is that Mr. Sutherland is not a stranger to this situation. In 1989 and 1993, he plead guilty and was convicted of reckless driving while under the influence. Kiefer got three years probation for both of those cases, the second of which fell just after the probation was up for the first. Time was on his side in that one. Later in 2004, he was again convicted of another DUI. He pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence and was sentenced to 60 months of probation, a $500. fine, 50 hours of community service and was ordered to attend an alcohol treatment program. In May 2005, he appeared again in court with proof of completion of both the community service and the treatment program.

I just don't understand why these celebrities (Paris, Lohan, etc.) with all the money they have don't hire a chauffeur to take them around when they are partying. It makes no sense.

Anyways, that's it from Ohilda's Kiefer watch. I just hope it doesn't affect the production and his character on season 7 of "24".

Never Give Up!

I borrowed this from my sister's blog. Thanks, Ily. Another affirmation from God that I needed to hear.

I dedicate this to my little Chinese bamboo, Anna Grace. I love you more than words could ever say & I promise you that I will never give up on either loving you or being there to help you through whatever you need.

One day I decided to quit. I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality. I wanted to quit my life. I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

"God", I asked, "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?" His answer surprised me. "Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?" "Yes", I replied."When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.

In the second year, the fern grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.

He said, "In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit. In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would not quit."

He said, "Then in the fifth year, a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant. But just 6 months later, the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive. I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle.

"He asked me. "Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots. I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you. Don't compare yourself to others."

He continued by saying, "The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern. Yet, they both make the forest beautiful. Your time will come", God said to me. "You will rise high."

"How high should I rise?" I asked. "How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return. "As high as it can?" I questioned. "Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."

I left the forest and brought back this story. I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you. Never, Never, Never Give up.
