"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." - Isaiah 40:31
I want to share a story about a very dear friend, Grace, and what she is going through as she waits for her sister, Stella, to walk into Jesus' arms. It's a story of hope, of love and raw courage and strength.
I would love for you to help.
It involves no money.
It involves no effort.
It solely involves allowing your heart to be moved and to pray diligently for this family.
It involves letting them know that they are not alone.
It involves being God's hands and feet and allowing these two sisters to feel God's love by showing them that whether or not you know someone in the physical world, it does not matter. They are a child of God. We are one body in Christ.
I want to start by sharing a little about my friend, Grace. Her heart is huge. She is kind, loving, and has a courage and strength that I have seen in very few people in my life. She is also a wife to a wonderful man, and the mother to two beautiful girls.
Grace and I have known each other for almost 20 years. We were pregnant together with both our older girls and she was the officiant at my wedding to Scott.
With all the joys that she's had in her life, she's also endured a lot of difficult times. These include losing her mother to ovarian cancer when she was only 17 years old. Then being diagnosed with breast cancer herself shortly after my wedding with Scott. She's a fighter. A survivor. By the grace of God, her sister, Stella, gave her an amazing, yet bitter-sweet, gift four years ago, when Stella was diagnosed with her own battle against this devastating disease. She literally gave her the gift of life.
In 2007, Grace chose to electively have her ovaries and both breasts removed in order to stay one step ahead of the horrible disease that had robbed her mother from her and is now stealing away her sister, also.
I'm asking you to please go over to Grace's blog, My Journey with my Sissy, Stella and read a bit more about these two amazing women. Then, join me in lifting them up to our God. Let them know by commenting on her blog that you are doing so. That you are praying for them. That God's people unite and that the power of prayer is huge. God listens. He may choose not to heal Stella, but His Holy Spirit can move mountains as they journey to the end of her earthly life by allowing them to feel a peace that they don't understand. The peace that can only come from Him.
Prayer warriors, dear friends, this means so much to me. Grace can obviously not change the circumstances, but her one desire, is to have as many people as possible praying for her big sister. I have taken the liberty to ask you, my readers, to do this and to spread the word. Please pray and leave words of encouragement. They so desperately need them.
Thank you, as always, your friend and sister in Christ....
