Back in December, my dear mother-in-law gave us a wonderful family Christmas gift, tickets to the local "Broadway" Theatre. This was the 2nd time she's done this. The first time, we went as a family to see The Wizard of Oz. The kids absolutely loved it! They were only 1, 2, and 3 at the time, yet they sat motionless throughout the entire play.
Albeit quite an expensive enjoyment for a family of six, we love for the children to expand their artistic horizons through this type of entertainment. So, when their grandmother offered to get us the "family gift" again, we all jumped up with glee in agreement!
This leads me to the preparation stage.
While waiting for the day of the show to watch The Wizard of Oz, I prepared them by showing them the original movie on VHS for a few weeks before heading to the play.
This week I purchased the tickets for Peter Pan, which we'll be seeing in July.
I promptly began my preparations for the anticipated event by pulling out my big box of old and dusty VHS tapes. I joyfully found the original 1954 Broadway play with Mary Martin as Peter Pan.
While I really try to keep my political opinions (I know some of you are laughing) out of my blog, with the exception of my passion for protecting the sanctity of life, there are times when I am just scared witless of what our future holds with Obama ruling governing our nation.
As the Government, not-so-slowly, is taking over banks, corporations and our freedoms, this morning's headlines made me think that THIS post and THIS post aren't as far-fetched as many of you may think. I grew up surrounded by exiles that watched a country move from very hard economic times with it's people searching for hope and change into what today, almost 60 years later, has become one of the most oppressed countries in the world. Where the freedoms we take for granted in the U.S., are now unknown to most of the generation that lives in Cuba today.
Why? Because of an ideology that believes that there should be social and economic equality. Remember President Obama's famous words, "we should spread the wealth"?
My heart hurts. It's happening right before our eyes and we are blinded because our country is hurting. We are seeking hope and change in all the wrong places. Giving the government more power is taking away our liberties, worse yet, our children and grandchildren's liberties.
When the media reports from "INSIDE" the White House and journalistic powers are given to the government, the only word to describe the reporting coming from within is propaganda.
Today's headlines?
I have been a horrible, horrible blogger. Time just seems to be flying by since school let out. I'm sorry. Really. I am.
But, as promised, here are graduation pictures!
My sweet little boy is going to Kindergarten. Can someone please tell me how that could be? It was just yesterday that I held this teeny, tiny, frail little boy that could only utter sounds and crawl around at 22 months. Now, he's bursting with enough energy to keep the sun lit and speaks non-stop. Literally. Yes, even while he sleeps.
Then, there's my girl. My little girl that somehow turned 4 over night. She has one more year of preschool to go, but I am so proud of her accomplishments. This Friday we will be celebrating Anna Grace's second Forever Family Day with us! Again, where has time gone? I'm preparing a full update on her past year at home, including her still remaining struggles and big achievements with her attachment!
I am so very blessed to call these sweeties my children! Thank You, Lord!
I couldn't ask for a better life filled with lots of kids, an adoring husband, chaos, laughter and more love than you can imagine! That's my life....and I love it!
