Even with a band-aid covering her boo-boo and chocolate all over her mouth, I think she is so beautiful!
I was going to give an Anna Grace update this morning, since I know there are quite a few of my dear prayer warrior buddies praying for her, but instead I want to journal a quick story of what happened last night.
For the past week at bedtime, Scott and I have been allowing the kids to take turns each night and tell us "a story". It's a way of getting them to express themselves, develop their language skills while at the same time allowing them to stretch their imaginations.
There's been a lot of copying of stories so we try to guide them a bit. The big story climax for the past couple of days has always been "a monster in the window". Usually said monster is fought off by the brave boys, etc. and a quick "The End!" follows.
Last night was Anna Grace's story night. It was different. This is how it went.
SCOTT: "Ok, Anna Grace. Your turn for a story tonight."
ANNA GRACE: (beaming while clearing throat in preparation) "Once upon a time, there was a biiiiiggg" (arms outstretched) "monsta." (then quiet.)
ME: "What did the monster do?"
ANNA GRACE: "He came into my bedroom and jumped on my bed." (more silence.)
ME: "Ooooh, how scary. What did you do?"
ANNA GRACE: "I ran to Mama's room and get you." (Again the same pause)
ME: "Oh my! Was I scared? What did I do?" (expecting to be the one to fight off the monster)
ANNA GRACE: "No, Mama! You not scared." (we continued to wait for more...but silence ensued).
ME: "So? What did I do?"
ANNA GRACE: "You pwayed for me!"
ME: (Looking at her through blurry, tear-filled eyes) "And did that take the monster away?"
ANNA GRACE: (indignantly) "Yes, Mama! Whenever you pway for me everything is all betta. Oh! The monsta tond into a rainbow. The End!"
Definitely a sign that all those prayers are working! Thank you!

that was awesome!!! I love it!
One of the things we did with our kids was "the story stick". We had a stick (dowel rod) and we would sit down before bed. the person holding the story stick would start the story. At some point they would pass the stick to the next person who had to pick up the story and continue it on. My kids LOVED the story stick!!
PS: could you do something about that weather you are having?!!!! You've got 2 days! ha!
such a sweet story, put a smile on my face, Darling

Oh wow isin't it amazing how GOD uses these lil ones to minister to our own hearts, reminding us to "keep it (life) simple". God has such a mysterious way of doing things with such depth but at the same time, keeping it simple.

Now - step back into the 'way back machine' for a minute - say two years or so ago - remember where you guys were and what was going on in your life....need we any more proof that God provides? And in more ways than one - He provided for us through you too if you'll recall!
Love you guys and hug that little doll for us!
