"Once our eyes are opened, we cannot pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act." Proverbs 24:12

He Won...and Now What?

He won because in churches all over the country there were people kneeling in front of the Blessed Sacrament and before crosses with the crucified Christ, who ignorantly voted for him.

He won because people voted with their pocketbooks and not their moral conscience, which has almost become an anachronism.

He won because people who knew better waited too long to do what needed to be done.

He won because people allowed elegant rhetoric to trump substance and courage.

He won because change from something we don't like seems like change to something we might like and that is attractive, though hollow. The “grass is not always greener…” concept has taken on new meaning…

He won because we live in a world of images and sound bites…staging and falsehood…Styrofoam Greek columns…the abuse of the image of our flag…

He won because the courage and determination of the few was no match for the gullibility of the majority.

He won because people want it now and easy, even at the peril of losing something greater.

He won because enough did not do enough, while God was observing.

He won because there were not enough priests and pastors willing to stop the political correctness and take a stand.

He won because more people braved the cold in Grant Park, Chicago , tonight to worship someone they don't even know, than the number of people who go to worship God on Sunday in all of Illinois .

He won because good people who could have/should have stood up and fought, didn't.

He won because he managed to deceive too many into thinking that he is what they needed, because they did not have the will to find out who he is not.

He won because he appealed to the worst in so many and to those who see themselves as victims, but who instead have been cleverly used.

He won because we don't know who he is and it takes less wisdom to vote for the unknown than the courage to embrace the known.

He won because people ran from what they did not like while not knowing what they were running towards.

He won because we have become a God-less country where the powers of darkness have been invited to flourish and Truth is vanishing.

He won because Christians who are one body in Christ and whose numbers would have given McCain an incredible and assured mandate, did not listen to the Church’s teachings.

He won because the children of darkness are more astute than the children of light.

He won because we let him.

He won because the country bet on a MAN it does not know, instead of relying on GOD.

He won because God is not done purging us from the ravages committed on the unborn, since most still do not see it as ravishing. Like the Israelites in the desert, we are being told to take another (4-year) lap.

He won because God let him.

And Now?

We can give up, become depressed and go like “sheep to the slaughter” and turn ourselves over to MAN.

Or…

We must keep our focus on GOD.

I went back and read everything I wrote above and it boils down to three issues: Ignorance, lack of Faith and lack of Will.

Ignorance requires education—we have 4 years to address this.

Lack of faith is partly remedied by education but it is only realized by union with God and the will to follow HIM.

And lack of will? Only prayer will give us the strength to correct that. “Through Him, with Him, in Him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, All Glory and Honor are Yours, Almighty Father, Forever and Ever. Amen.” This must become our motto and we must live it.

So, it is what it is…for the moment. We must not let this defeat us. This is not the end…It is only a setback. In fact, this should embolden us. We have 4 years till the next election. Nothing is for certain. We need to start now—ok, after a few days of sleep to recuperate.

But not much more than that.

What is at stake?

3,600 babies a day, times 365 days a year, times 4 more years…

5,256,000 more lambs to the slaughter.

UNACCEPTABLE

UNTHINKABLE

We have 1460 days, 35,040 hours, 2,102,400 minutes…and not a moment to waste.

Yes, we can!

May the Lord have Mercy on us all.

Let us pray…

As to my princess, no vomiting after breakfast this morning! We are headed home. Will post this evening, with pictures. God bless you and again, a million thank you's for your prayers and praises filled with thanksgving to our Savior, Jesus Christ.

We MUST keep our focus on God. God allowed this to happen for a reason so now we must live for GOD as never before.

A socialist president, the senate and house will be more liberal, and he will nominate at least two SC justices. We could be at the brink of the beginning of covert persecution.

Count it as blessing - all your trials.

Beautifully written. You are so right. But God is still on the throne and no man will knock Him off.

So thankful for the good news on Anna Grace. Praying for continued blessings.

Ohlida. I am one who strongly disagrees with many of the political posts you have put up in the past few weeks, but as you say...íts your blog..and I applaud you for your dedication to your beliefs. I wish I had time to address each of the lines you put up in your current post, but in the long run, I fear your mind is closed to the good and possibilities that will come from the next presidency. One thing for everyone to keep in mind comes from the follwoing quote. I think it addresses those who feel hopeless as a result of the election as well as those who may be placing too much hope on the result that occured.....

"Where is the hope? I meet millions who tell me that they feel demoralized by the decay around us. Where is the hope? The hope that each of us have is not in who governs us, or what laws are passed, or what great things that we do as a nation. Our hope is in the power of God working through the hearts of people, and that’s where our hope is in this country; that’s where our hope is in life."

Oh Ohilda, first I am so thankful your little one is doing better.... safe journey home....
I too am very saddened by what took place yesterday.... I also hate racism! And it breaks my heart that one of the reasons this man was elected was because of the color of his skin. When you vote for someone because of the color of his skin that is racism! I would love to be able to celebrate the fact that a black man was able to become the president of the United States however, I cannot for the color of someone's skin truly shouldn't have any baring on why they are elected president of our nation. Who would have thought that in the 21st century it would be the deciding factor.
So, we will come together and pray for the leader God has chosen. We will pray for His mercy and grace. we will pray that He does not harden hearts but breaks them so that true repentence will be found in our nation... that we will turn from evil and reach out to God. That the Body of Christ will wake up! And take a stand for Jesus and His truth.... the days of walking the fence may very well be over..... we have just elected a socialistic president.... it soon could be illegal to speak about God's absolutes regarding sin. Christians could be officailly labled as Hate Mongers because we do not condone the things that are
abominations against God... or at least we should NOT condone them!
Time will tell...... all that I can say is that I will pray.... I will pray for this new leader.....
BUT! As for me and my house.... WE WILL SERVE THE LORD! At ALL cost!
God bless you for all you have done and for being a voice of wisdom.
Your Sister in Christ Jesus,

Praise God for Anna Grace! In spite of this election, God is still the same, still hears our prayers and will still want our praise. This was His Will, I prayed on the way to work last night and asked God what do I do now. I asked God to speak to me, I feel defeated I have pain in my heart for my Heavenly Father. He told me to, "pray" for obama. Pray for his salvation, conviction, and for those he will appoint. I have a best friend I work with who is a christian or so I thought, she voted for him because of the money issue. Well now I know that is what she worships and as God leads me I will talk with her about that. I just see there is work to be done to get people ready for His return and my spirit is stirred up and angry because people are ignorant about our Lord. I have prayed He give me compassion and speak to me, let me know what He wants me to do.

Ohilda...this is so wonderfully written and I agree with every one of your words...every last one! The part about churches not bringing the issue up so they can stay politically correct...that would be my church and it saddened me so!

God is God. Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow. Aren't we blessed to have Him to look to during times like this? Look at what O*bama supporters now have to look up to.....sad, indeed.

I am soooo glad to hear AG is no longer getting sick and on her way home!!! Thanks be to Jesus!!!

Ohilda, beautifully written and so echos my heart. We MUST get on our knees and pray - the church has been way to complacent and this is where it has brought us!! I cry for our children - our precious little ones - what are we leaving them? What have we done to their future! BUT the Truth remains that God is still on the throne and we can not let fear overtake us - our faith must spur us on to do all we can!

Happy to hear Anna Grace is doing ok. I am sure you are all anxious to be home.

I am so thankful I serve a God who promises that He is the one and only and knows all things. We really need to trust him and seek comfort from him. I don't know what is ahead for our country but He does.

I was pro-Obama until I began reading your blog. Then I started doing more research... Then I realized I was on the wrong team, fighting for the wrong player. I switched sides at the 12th hour... Literally days before the election I changed my mind. Why? Your blog.

Then I started talking with more people. People asked me if I was voting for Obama, and I would tell them no. What I heard in return 100% of the time left my jaw gaping open. "Are you racist or have something against a black man being in office???" Wow. What a question to ask considering I have a mixed child.

I also found more people talking about all the "free benefits" they would get from Obama... How they would get more from the gov't and not be required to give as much in return, and I thought of how wrong they were. Then again, I shook my head realizing that many people now would rather take the quick and lazy way out, and honestly do sit back and wait for things to be handed to them. More people prefer this way of recieving things than working for an honest living.

Further more, I thought about issues at risk. Now honestly, I'm pro-choice for reasons beyond explanation. However, I was raped at 16, yet went through with the pregnancy and placed her for adoption. We keep in touch. While adoption was right for me in that circumstance, I understand it's not for everyone. Yet, at the same time, there are women who use abortion as birth control... and that sickens me beyond words.

I'm scared for our country. I'm scared for my children. I'm scared for our future as a whole. Obama scares me in ways that I never thought possible from his beliefs, to his views, to his plans for America...

God help us all...

HE won because we live in American and we all have a right to vote for the person we wish to have as our leader. This is a free country and I am so grateful to live in it. What God's plan is is only for Him to know. What the democratic process is is for the people to decide. People need change so they voted for change. God will guide the rest.

I have been praying for Anna Grace and am so happy that she is home and doing well. Your post about the election was so eloquent, and everything you said is spot on. I am praying for our nation and for God's grace. God is still on the throne, and He does not intend to share it with anyone.
