"Once our eyes are opened, we cannot pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act." Proverbs 24:12

you know you may be saying too much when....

...after telling the kids over and over how incredibly awesome Jesus is and how much He loves them, Kai and I have this conversation:

KAI: (while sitting in timeout for not listening) Mama, I mad at you! I going to Heaven to be with Jesus!

ME: (after recovering from the shock of hearing those words) Oh, Kai. I would be so sad! If you go to Heaven, I won't see you for a long, long, time. I would miss you so much.

KAI: No, you won't. Because I'm only going for three weeks. I be back!

A couple of days later, we had this conversation:

KAI: Mama, does everybody go to Heaven?

ME: No Kai. Only people that really love Jesus and are good people go to Heaven.

KAI: (whose wheels I could see spinning in his little head) Well, where do bad people go?

ME: Bad people who don't try to be good and who don't love Jesus go to a bad place where there is fire and monsters.

KAI: What's that place called? Is it in Heaven?

ME: (already trying to squirm out of the conversation because I could already see where it was going) No, it's not in Heaven. It's in a bad place and it's called hell.

KAI: (turning with pointed finger to Anna Grace who had just walked into the room) You better be good cuz not, you go to hell!

AUUUUUUUUUUGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my gosh, I could totally see this coming from the beginning. This sounds like a conversation my 4 year old and I would have. Kai sounds like so much fun.

I am sure there is never a dull moment in your house.

Oh my goodness...these conversations at this age are just too funny...in a bittersweet way of course...I really don't like when they bring up "dying" but their take on it is just hilarious!

Hope your migraine is better...totally sympathize with you on that as I get them too.

Hey...by the way...email me about "24" if you have a chance...I have a question about last week's show that you alluded to on twitter...

lolol! Ella asks a million questions about Heaven and Jesus and the Crucifixion....which is wonderful, but with some of them I start to squirm, too! I know they are things she is not quite ready to grasp, but oh, she wants to know. I could sooo hear her saying to S, what Kai said to AG. lol!
I sent you a text earlier today while S was in therapy...we will catch one another one of these days. : )
oh, and we are going to Disney Sept. 21st. to 26th. : )

We have a lot of friends who are not believers, so I really have to watch what I say. I tell the Tongginator that heaven is all about praising Jesus, so people who don't believe in Him usually don't want to be in heaven anyway. Sometimes that changes for people, though, and hopefully not too late.

Man oh man, that little Kai man is going to keep you on your toes! I can just imagine the reaction from unsuspecting Anna Grace. Poor baby walked right into that one!

It was because of a question like this my 4 year old accepted Jesus. He wanted to be with Jesus forever in heaven and asked how he could too! Praise God for their curious little minds and never-ending questions.

That's so funny you posted about this. Just two days ago, we were at WalMart & saw two police officers arresting three women, while all their "car stuff" was unloaded onto the hood of their minivan.

Reese asked what was happening, & I explained.

He then asked (not so quietly, he's 5) "Are they going to Hell?"

Oh my...
