"Once our eyes are opened, we cannot pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act." Proverbs 24:12

being politically correct

SHAME ON YOU NOTRE DAME!

After watching and reflecting on this video, it reminded me a bit of Jesus being taken before Pilate.

Pilate would have been looked down upon before the chief priests if he released Jesus himself, so he hoped by allowing the people to decide between Jesus and Barabbas, a murderer, they would choose Jesus to be released. He even went as far as asking the people, "What crime has he committed?" (Mark 15:14) in the hopes that Jesus would be set free. The people chose to crucify Him. Pilate chose to be 'politically correct'.

Notre Dame, founded in 1842 and affiliated with the Roman Catholic church, was very much playing the role of Pilate. Wanting to fit into today's polluted society, they jumped on the bandwagon to offer Obama an honorary degree and a chance to speak at their commencement ceremonies this past Sunday. Now, being put into a position which was obviously a horrible mistake since they've lost millions in contributions from their alumni, they were too proud to take back their offer. In other words, they were acting 'politically correct'. There are those two words again. Words that make me cringe at my very core.

It saddens me greatly each passing day how we can care less and less for those that have no voices and more and more for our own selfish agendas.

It's like I tell my kids all the time, "Life would be so easy. All you have to do is obey."

"If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." - 2 Chronicles 7:14

Catholics, does this make you feel even the slighest tinge of remorse for having voted this man into office?

I certainly didn't vote for him. Yet, watching this 80-year-old priest, a man ordained by the very church whose beliefs this univeristy was founded upon, being dragged away to jail for defending the unborn, while a man that has been given a license to kill the innocent is being revered, makes my stomach churn!

Jesus' return can't possibly be too far away!

We too are Catholics and did NOT vote for Obama. My heart breaks for people like this priest who are not able to voice their freedom of speech especially at a Catholic University.

I must say that this made me so sad. I live about 45 minutes from Notre Dame and the news coverage here was astounding. I signed a petition months ago to try and keep Obama from coming. I'm all for respecting our President but come on, as a Catholic University I just can't believe they allowed him to speak at comencement, and gave him an honorary degree at that! Serves them right for loosing alumni support. Unfortunately it is the students who will suffer. And if the news coverage I saw was correct there were a whole lot of students who stood in protest too and even some who boycotted their own graduation!

I was sickened when I first learned about Notre Dame's invitation to Obama. Sadly, it may take the loss of donations for them to realize just how much of a division this has caused. This could be especially hard on the school given the current economic climate. I have to say however, they won't be getting any of our dollars now.

Is it 2012 yet?

It sickens me death to see such evil in this world and honestly I feel sorry for the people who are not saved & their souls being devoured by Satan. KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS, and don't you worry GOD has his wrath on those people who continue to support the destruction of the very LIFE that he created.....

I am Catholic, and I DID NOT vote for this president, but unfortunately, I know some of the mom's in my own parish's mom's group did. We had very heated debates over it. I can't say that I was all that surprised by Notre Dame's actions as it seems to me that there are very few truly Catholic universities anymore.

I hope the alumni do hit them in the wallet, and I hope that any Christian that considers themselves to be pro-life would reconsider attending the school.

I am proud of those graduates who put their principles and faith in action by boycotting their own graduation, but shame on Notre Dame for making them have to choose.

Oh the whole thing just disgusts me!

I am not Catholic, but lived for 8 years in South Bend and love Notre Dame. I was so sad about this. but I have to say, so very proud of those students who stood up for their beliefs!! As sad as it was, it will be a life lesson they will not soon forget and I pray God will use it to strengthen their faith!!

He is a modern day Apostle Paul singing in the jail praises to the KING, and not king obama the other KING who loves us and loves all unborn babies. Thanks for posting this I couldn't watch it all because like you it made me ill.
