Could this EVER be the definition of "punishment"?

Thank You Terryn for letting me borrow this picture.

"For a child not ready to be a parent it could be punishment for everyone... most importantly the baby."

How about offering that baby a chance at a life with the THOUSANDS of families whose hearts break daily praying to God to be able to be a parent? Ask ANY of my three little ones born in my heart if they feel their life is a punishment! I think your response is completely selfish! My blog. My opinion.

Furthermore, click HERE and tell me which one would have preferred to have been killed!

And since I'm on a roll, I always approve Anonymous comments if they are respectful, but I so wish those people had the courage to stand behind their words.

WOW, I can't believe he said that!
Just wondering if you have any thought on the mother of the octuplets? I know you probably agree with her on certain points (like I do) but maybe you disagree on others? Not that I want to start a debate on your blog, but you are used to posting about more controversial topics :)

I stand behind you 100 percent dear friend!!!

EACH of my children COULD have been an abortion statistic...EVERY ONE...their mothers COULD have chosen to have an abortion...ALL of them CHOSE LIFE and I will FOREVER be in their debt!!!!!

ALL children are a gift from GOD. ALL OF THEM!

It always amazes me how people so bold and so rude hide behind a cloak of anonymity. There would be no way for others to go to their blog and leave the same kind of comment......you know, return the favor.......

I'm behind you and beside you, my friend.

I have to agree 100%. I choose life every time. Children are not punishments...but blessings.

Your 'anon' commenter is obviously out of touch (putting it nicely) with the vast number of couples who desperately want to give a child a home. I was married for 19 years before our first child was born and could be a poster child for this cause. I have friends that have tried to adopt domestically for 15+ years (with many failed attempts) and I'd be happy to put your poster in contact with families that would instantly give an opportunity for a child to have a secure loving home with a mother and father who would sacrifice all for a child.

I agree totally with you that this poster has a totally selfish attitude. Obama fits right in there with my opinions of the criminals on death row for murder on this subject.

that just makes me sick to my stomach every time I think about what he said.

As for parents that aren't "ready". Don't have sex. Sex has consequences. If you come up pregnant and you aren't ready turn to the A word....adoption.

I didn't really catch that anonymous was stating that abortion was the option to solve the issue of avoiding punishment on a baby as a result of a parent not being ready. I think the statement by anonymous is not selfish or worthy of bashing. It is a statement of fact, not an advertisement for abortion. Ohilda, I can see hating abortion, but you seem to branch out and hate the person having the abortion, the person performing the abortion, the people who knew of the abortion and said nothing. I can't imagine you harbor these feeling aginst your own family members whom you have shared had an abortion. There was a lot of forgiving in that post. I just don't get it.

In response to your comment (which I respect) I must say that first of all, I stand by my initial opinion, killing a child instead of offering him or her the opportunity to live because a parent is not ready, IS selfish. Period. GIVE IT UP FOR ADOPTION!!!! DON'T KILL HIM!

Secondly, I'm a bit baffled at how you could say that you didn't think anonymous' comment wasn't stating that "abortion was the option." Are you reading the same post? The post is about abortion. What else would she be speaking about?

Lastly, I had to laugh about the comment of my harboring such hatred for the person having the abortion, the abortionist, and the people who knew of it. If that was the case, man...I'd hate a LOT of people, including the tens of dozens of girls who I've remained in contact with that did have abortion, my family members that knew of it, and yes, of course, the one family member that is my best friend, that actually had the abortion. Yep! A hateful person I am. Again, I have to laugh.

I think I will leave well enough alone, since you're right. "You just don't get it."

We've now both said our peace. God bless.

OK. Here's the deal. I was not always pro-life (anti-abortion). I was once very pro-choice---any choice that suited the woman, that is, whom I believed had right to ultimate control over her own body.

When did I change? After I met Jesus (at age 30). Perhaps you cannot be pro-life without subscribing to Judeo-Christian beliefs? (shrugs)

Jesus tell us we must not hate. And it is for the reason Ohilda states...it is rottenness to our souls. In fact, as she also states, we are called to love those who hate us and bless those who curse us. This is hard to do, especially when you have a migraine, have had your feelings hurt, your faith questioned and it is late at night.

I think Ohilda has been rather gracious. It is her opinion, her blog, as she states. She could delete dissenting comments. She could block anonymous ones.

I believe her when she states that she respects the people who leave comments here. I also believe that she feels that open and honest dialoge, even if it puts her in the 'line of fire', so to speak, is infinitely worth it, if she changes even one abortion-minded woman's mind; that one tiny life might be spared.

A person's a person, no matter how small, even if you don't believe in Jesus. And even if a woman is experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, I would put forth that there is no such thing as an unwanted one. All babies can be the answer to someone's dreams.

That left me speechless. I'm blown away, because a lot of times these are the same women praying so desperately for a child later in life. I always wonder about the people leaving anonymous comments though, if you believe so strongly why hide it ?
These are definitely the kinds of people we need to be in prayer for.

Robin you are running down the line of non sequitur. Please show me where Ohilda ever said that she hated people that had an abortion. My church...scratch that....my family has a saying - hate the SIN (abortion) and love the sinner.

In case you are unsure what non sequitur means...seeing as how you veered off to something that just wasn't true and made an awfully large assumption... Non sequitur means a leap in logic that makes no sense. Your leap had no critical bearing. There was no supporting fact.

Keep going, Ohilda, and nevermind those that don't think before they speak.

Don't you love the anon comments? Too afraid to confront. Keep speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves!! Hate is a word used to shut up the opponent as is bigot and judgmental. The liberal left loves those words.

Hi, I totally believe a woman has a right to make a choice about her body, but once she makes that choice to have unprotected sex, her right to choose ends, then it is NO longer just her body, it is also the little one she is carrying's body. It is so sad that some people just don't get this. If your not ready to have a baby, then don't have sex, it's not a game, it's God's way of letting a husband and wife share a special love and product a special gift from that love. They can call me old fashion, but I don't care that is my belief.

Ohilda, I'm so happy to see others posting this "demotivator" poster. :o)

I see calling someone a "hater" as taking the light off the issue and onto someONE. You then have to defend yourself, and cease to defend the issue.

You're not a hater, I'm not a hater. We just happen to be huge fans of innocent life, and try to do our part in keeping the issue out there. I'm not violent, a picketer, a rabble-rouser, but I do post things that I hold dear, and I love that you do too. I was told the opposite of Love is not Hate, it's selfishness. That's why I have the utmost regard for my children's birthparents, the epitomes of unselfishness. It would've been so much easier for them, to not have allowed them to be born.

Stay true to yourself and the Word.
