Calling all North Carolina families....

Of course, nothing is written in stone, but Scott and I have been seriously pondering the thought of leaving Florida and moving to North Carolina. It won't happen in the very near future, but we are looking to move in maybe 3 or 4 years. There are a few contingencies that must occur for me to actually make the move, but I am pretty ready to leave the Sunshine State. The major contingency is that family (all of my six babies included) move with us. We're working on it. :)

Scott is eligible to possibly ask for transfers to 3 different NC cities; Greensboro, Raleigh or Charlotte. I really don't know that much about any of them, except for the couple of times we have been there for weekend getaways and have loved it!!!

So, if anyone has any input as to those areas, how far/close they are to the mountains (which I'd love to be near), the school systems, the cost of living, the weather, the communities, whatever you are willing to share, I'd love to hear.

We are looking to move to Utopia, but will settle for a great little city or town not far from those major cities if need be.

Please let us know your thoughts.

NOTE: I am about 1.5 weeks behind in responding to emails, that doesn't mean that I haven't read them. On the contrary, I have and have flagged them to make sure I respond. I soooooo appreciate when you all take the time to write. I will answer each of your emails soon! I promise. Thank you for your patience. One last thing, for the emails that I have received asking for prayer requests, please do not think that because I haven't responded yet I have not been praying. Each day you are included in my prayers.

We live in Union County, outside of Charlotte. I love it. It's very family friendly, "country" and laid back. But it's still close enough to Charlotte for shopping and other stuff. My husband and I both teach in Union county and I really like that as well. I would send my daughter to either of our schools without reservation. E-mail me if you have more specific questions.

I love North Carolina , we live in Raleigh which is 3 hours from the mountains. There are many different kinds of schools available and great universities, Duke, University of North Carolina, East Carolina University, North Carolina State If you live outside Raleigh you can get alot of house for your money. The beach is 3 hours the other way. Mom to 4

Hi Ohilda!
We live in Fayetteville about an hour away from Raleigh. We had to go to Raleigh to get state seals done for adoption papers and have some friends who live close to there. It is a GREAT city with TONS of resources and lots to do.
GREAT medical facilities there as well as historical sites to visit and cultural interests as well. I agree that it might be good to live outside of Raleigh in order to get more house for your money. We would love to meet your crew if you decide to move this way and if we are still here ourselves! (hubby has one year left on his Army contract, and not sure what the Lord has for us next!)
Blessings of discernment as you make decisions,
Holly M.
