I believe it's time for me to flyyyyyyy!

Do you remember my excitement when I wrote THIS post?

Well, the time has finally arrived. Tomorrow at this time, Scott and I will be boarding a plane to Washington, DC and having 9 wonderful grown-up days traveling through our nation's capital, beautiful Amish country Pennsylvania, and taking in the mountains of West Virginia. We are so ready!

I've been feeling a twinge of guilt not taking the kids, but I know they will be loved and spoiled by my sister and Mom, who will be staying at our house as to not break up their routine. (Ily and Mom - you are angels! I love you both and thank you so much for this huge gift!!!)

As always, I am running around taking care of last minute things, including needing to pack.

Lastly, please keep our kiddos (especially Anna Grace) in our prayers that they understand that Mama and Daddy ALWAYS come back. That the Lord allow their little minds to have fun and not have any worries on their minds.

Also, if you could please pray for a safe trip for us and that it be a time for us to refresh and enjoy our treasured time together as a couple.

I will try to post on our blog whenever possible (probably on the road), since I want to journal our trip in as much detail as possible. So, don't forget to check in throughout the week!

Ohilda,

I grew up in West Virginia! I hope you have a wonderful time!

Did I see on your blog a while back a reference to someone who went to China for a child, found that the child had other medical issues, and then was referred a different child? I'm looking for that blog.

Have a wonderful trip Ohilda! You absolutely deserve a Mommy & Daddy getaway! I live 3 1/2 south of Washington D.C. and I must say that our nations capital is so beautiful with it's vast array of museums, monuments, beautiful architecture and history. May God provide the two of you with joyous and safe travels!

Sherri,

I sadly have read a few of those scenarios, but I don't think I've ever blogged publicly about it.

The ones I do know about, the families have taken the blog down.

Oh, how great that you and your hubby are having a romantic getaway for two!!! Nolan and I went on a romantic getaway earlier this year and after we returned, I ran into a mom that looked at me as if I had three heads. "You left your children at home? How could you do that?" I personally think it's very important that mommy and daddy have some special time sans kids occasionally. I hope you have a FABULOUS time! I will pray for safe travels for the two of you and for peace of mind for the kiddos back home.

Ohilda and Scott - have a wonderful trip - I'm just a little 'green' with envy! I spent 10 days or so teaching FEMA some skills at Mt. Weather in the Blue Ridge area - it was an 'interesting' trip to say the least (google Mt. Weather) - but some of the most beautiful country I've ever seen! Come back refreshed - prayers offered for the rest of the family - fair winds and following seas...

Ohilda,

I'm late for the send off, but when you check in from the road please know that I am praying for a G-L-O-R-I-U-S time for the two of you.

May the Lord bring a time of refreshing to your marriage, and may He keep his hand upon all of your babies, big and small. May He keep a special watch over Anna Grace, giving her peace in her heart and guarding the trusting relationship that has been built between Mama and Anna Grace.

Have fun, fun, fun!

Blessings from Texas~

Ohilda,
Have a wonderful time in Lancaster. I am PA Dutch and most of my family is from there! You are really close to my home turf! I am super jealous because I would love to take Paden & Raina there! Enjoy it for me and blow a kiss to my family...
